'We are the future of our Nation' records progress

The new initiative of EDUMARK CONSULT.We are the future of the nation, an annual yearbook featuring final year students of Secondary Schools across the nation is taking giant strides. According to the Chief Executive Officer of Edumark Consult, Mrs. Yinka Ogunde.

Mrs. Ogunde recalls a widespread acceptance of the vision across the nation. We have been pleasantly surprised at the adoption of this project by schools, individuals and even the government across the nation.

She reiterated that the project had been put together as an intervention medium to arrest the apparent lack of patriotism for Nigeria by the young ones, while also correcting and inspiring the right values for living in them. Most of them are more interested in leaving Nigeria after their secondary school with no thoughts of contribution to the progress or future of the nation. To this end such graduating students are to give relevant data about themselves including their contribution to change in the nation?s future in the yearbook.

Also role models have been selected from different professions in the nation to inspire the young ones about how they can succeed in the nation despite the challenges.

Mrs. Ogunde, reports enthusiastically that many schools have already subscribed to the project including reputable private and government schools all over the nation. According to her the project enjoys the support of the Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili who is expected to write the foreword for the project. Also selected role models in the society are contributing their quota to the yearbook by writing inspirational messages for the youth.

Notable amongst such mentors are The Honourable Minister for Finance, Mrs. Nenadi Usman; Dr Reuben Abati, Editorial Board Chairman, The Guardian; Dr. Nadu Denloye, Group Managing Director, Telnet Nigeria; Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Senior Pastor Daystar Ministries; Mrs. Sade Adetiba, Executive Director, Industrial General Insurance; Mrs. Betty Irabor, Publisher, Genevieve Magazine; Chief Leo Stan Ekeh of Zinox Computers; Mrs. Bunmi Lawson of Accion Bank; Mrs. Bimpe Balogun of Akintola William Delloite among many others.

Reputable corporate organizations are also lending their weight to the project to ensure its success.

According to the editor of the year book Mrs. Nike Akindayo, this year book promises to be a must read for everyone who has a stake in Nigeria as the comments of these youth are eye openers to what the future should hold for Nigeria. It will also help policy makers understand the psyche, aspirations and direction the Nigerian youth is headed.

This epochal yearbook would be publicly presented at completion at an high profile event attended by both mentors and the final year secondary schools students and other stakeholders.
