| The Coalition for the Restoration of Education, Empowerment and Development, (CREED) has embarked upon a bi-monthly project titled ?The Commissioner?s Forum? an interactive session between the Lagos State Commissioner for Education, Dr. Leke Pitan and the stakeholders in education in Lagos State.
According to the coordinator of CREED, Mrs. Yinka Ogunde, the programme was designed to provide an avenue for the Commissioner to meet with the education public in Lagos State. The Commissioner would be meeting with the pupils / students, teachers and parents of public and private school in Lagos State to address issue that are paramount to the sector. The interactive session will afford all parties the opportunities to ask questions and provide further clarifications on government policies and reforms in the educational sector. Issues pertaining to the new education policy and various other education reforms in Lagos State will be addressed. CREED, an NGO actively supported by the Lagos State Ministry of Education proposes to hold this event in every zone of Lagos State, in a bi-monthly fora. The first of the interactive fora holds on the 2nd November, 2006 at SUBEB HALL, Maryland. In order to achieve its aims of Restoring Education through Empowerment and Development with the aid of the private sector participation, CREED also intends to organize workshops and seminars on mentoring, leadership training, student empowerment and enter preneurial skills. |
